Gov. Jay Inslee announced Tuesday the launch of a new website intended to track the state’s progress in five areas, including the economy, education, environment, health and government.

The website is part of the governor’s “Results Washington” initiative. One of Inslee’s campaign pledges during his run for governor was to bring “lean management” techniques to state government to help improve efficiency.

“I’ve said from day one that under my leadership, our state government will be efficient, effective and transparent,” Inslee said. The website will give “managers, employees and the public access to valuable, real-time information” that will help improve performance, Inslee said.

The database is still being developed, and results will be available on the website in about six months. Eventually, people will be able to look up data on categories such as early childhood education rates, access to daycare and obesity rates, Inslee said.

The state is asking for public feedback. The governor will hold a Twitter town hall on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. People can participate by following @GovInslee and using the #ResultsWA hashtag to ask questions. More information is available on the Results Washington website.
