U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell and 10th Congressional District candidate Denny Heck made a joint appearance at a crowded Ramblin Jacks restaurant in downtown Olympia on Wednesday as part of a 26-stop tour through the state.

The Democratic candidates rallied the crowd of more than 100 people to get out and vote with less than a week to election day. Cantwell is facing Republican challenger state Sen. Michael Baumgartner of Spokane, while Heck is running against Dick Muri of Steilacoom.

Cantwell and Heck focused their message on bringing jobs to Washington and supporting small business owners. They also praised each other, with Cantwell drawing loud cheers when she told Heck she “can’t wait to see him tangle with Paul Ryan.”

The Olympian has more on the campaign stop. Secretary of State candidate Kathleen Drew also spoke, and state legislators in attendance included Sen. Karen Fraser and Rep. Sam Hunt of Olympia and Rep. Fred Finn of Thurston County.
