Newly created education council holds its first meeting today

TVW is live webcasting two hearings today. Starting at 10 a.m., the newly created Student Achievement Council will hold its first meeting. The state Legislature abolished the Higher Education Coordinating Board during the 2012 session and replaced it with the council, which is tasked with increasing educational attainment. The Washington State Board of Health is talking about food safety and drinking water starting at 10:45 a.m. The board may make revisions to the state’s food code and change monitoring requirements for very small drinking water systems. The full agenda is here.
